J.K. Rowling’s 2011 Harry Potter website and digital service was called Pottermore.
Pottermore launched in 2011 as an interactive online destination combining original writing by Rowling, reading-related features, quizzes, and digital access connected with the Harry Potter books. It also became an early official route for distributing the e-book and audiobook editions of the series.
The service was later reworked and renamed Wizarding World in 2019. That change causes a common mix-up: Wizarding World is the broader current brand and website, while Pottermore is the earlier name associated with the original 2011 platform. Rowling’s additional background material helped expand details about the fictional world beyond the seven novels.
