What is the Airbus A350’s largest passenger variant?

The story behind the answer

The Airbus A350-1000 is the largest passenger variant in the A350 family.

Airbus developed the A350-1000 as a stretched version of the A350-900. It has a longer fuselage, a higher maximum takeoff weight, and greater passenger capacity. The A350-1000 first flew on 24 November 2016 and entered airline service with Qatar Airways in February 2018.

The A350-800 was a planned shorter version that Airbus cancelled in 2014, while the A350-900 became the principal version in service. The A350-1000 is not the same aircraft as the Airbus A330-900, even though both are wide-body Airbus twinjets. The A350 family uses extensive composite materials and was designed for efficient long-range operations.
