J.K. Rowling said she belonged to Gryffindor on Pottermore.
Gryffindor is one of the four Hogwarts houses in the Harry Potter series. It was founded by Godric Gryffindor and is traditionally associated with courage, bravery, nerve, and chivalry. Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger are among its most prominent members.
Pottermore, later renamed Wizarding World, included interactive sorting and author material connected with the series. Rowling’s stated house was Gryffindor, although she has also discussed identifying with traits associated with other houses.
The four houses are not simply academic departments. In the novels, the Sorting Hat considers a student’s character and preferences, and house identity shapes friendships, rivalries, and the annual House Cup competition.
