Andy Díaz recorded 18.15 metres to win the men’s triple jump at Birmingham 2026.
Representing Italy, Díaz won the title with a jump of 18.15 metres. The mark was both a world-leading performance and an Italian national record at the time of the championships.
The triple jump consists of a hop, a step and a jump, all performed in sequence before landing in the sandpit. The athlete must also take off from behind the foul line, so distance alone does not guarantee a valid mark.
Portugal’s Pedro Pichardo finished second with 17.76 metres, while Italy’s Andrea Dallavalle took bronze with 17.37 metres. Díaz’s victory was therefore part of Italy’s strong overall medal performance in Birmingham.
