Dual Play in Batman: Arkham Knight lets players switch between Batman and selected allies during certain combat sequences. The mechanic makes team attacks feel like a coordinated extension of the series’ Freeflow fighting system.
During Dual Play encounters, Batman can fight alongside characters such as Robin, Nightwing, or Catwoman. Players can change control between the active heroes, chaining strikes and using a cinematic tag-team maneuver to keep the fight moving. Each ally brings distinct weapons and animations, so switching is more than a cosmetic change.
The feature is limited to specific story or challenge situations rather than being available throughout every battle in Gotham. That restriction is why it is sometimes mistaken for a general combat mode or a permanent companion system. New Game Plus changes progression and difficulty, while Predator Mode describes stealth-focused play. Dual Play specifically refers to controlling allied characters within shared combat encounters.
