Under what name did J.K. Rowling publish the 2020 novel Troubled Blood?
Answer
Robert Galbraith
Answer
Robert Galbraith
J.K. Rowling published the 2020 novel Troubled Blood under the name Robert Galbraith.
Troubled Blood is the fifth novel in the Cormoran Strike series. It was published in September 2020 and continues the partnership between private detective Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott. The investigation concerns a woman who disappeared in 1974, giving the story a long historical time span as well as a contemporary detective framework.
Robert Galbraith is Rowling’s established pseudonym for the series. The first book, The Cuckoo’s Calling, appeared under that name in 2013 before the pseudonym’s connection to Rowling became public. Subsequent Strike novels retained the Galbraith credit even after the revelation.
The title can be confused with Strike’s name because both are strongly associated with the books. Cormoran Strike is the fictional detective; Robert Galbraith is the publishing name. Troubled Blood is therefore not a Harry Potter novel, and it is not credited to Rowling’s initials on its original title page.
