On what date were the 2026 BAFTA Film Awards winners announced?

The story behind the answer

The winners of the 2026 BAFTA Film Awards were announced on 22 February 2026.

The ceremony was the 79th British Academy Film Awards and was held at the Royal Festival Hall in London’s Southbank Centre. It honoured films released during 2025, with Alan Cumming serving as host and the event broadcast in the United Kingdom on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

The date can be confused with the awards’ nomination announcements. The 2026 BAFTA nominations were revealed on 27 January, while the EE Rising Star nominees had been announced earlier. The final winners were not known until the ceremony on 22 February.

One Battle After Another dominated the evening with six awards, including Best Film. Sinners won three, while Hamnet and Frankenstein each took two. The ceremony also included public voting for the EE Rising Star Award, won by Robert Aramayo.
