Need for Speed: World combined Palmont with which Most Wanted city?

The story behind the answer

Need for Speed: World combined Palmont with Rockport, the city from Need for Speed: Most Wanted.

World was an online racing game that merged two of the franchise’s most recognizable fictional settings into one map. Palmont came from Need for Speed: Carbon, while Rockport was the setting of the 2005 Need for Speed: Most Wanted. World redesigned and connected the areas rather than treating them as entirely separate games.

The map’s appeal came partly from this crossover. Players could revisit familiar districts, roads and landmarks while participating in an MMO-style version of the series, complete with free-roaming, street races, police pursuits and power-ups. New connecting locations helped turn the two cities into a broader shared environment.

The most likely confusion is Bayview, which belongs to Need for Speed: Underground 2, or Olympic City, associated with the original Need for Speed: Underground. Neither was part of World’s core combined map. World was released worldwide in 2010 as a free-to-play Windows game and its official servers were shut down in 2015.
