J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter website Pottermore was launched in 2011.
Pottermore was announced in June 2011 and opened to selected users through a registration period before its wider public launch. The website combined interactive experiences based on the books with additional writing by Rowling, including background information about characters, magical subjects, and the wizarding world.
The service was later renamed Wizarding World Digital in 2019, while the broader Wizarding World brand continued to cover Harry Potter and related works. This change means that Pottermore is often remembered as a current website name even though the original platform no longer operates under that identity. It should also not be confused with the later official Wizarding World website, which inherited much of its content and branding.
