J.K. Rowling completed the Harry Potter series with The Deathly Hallows in 2007.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was published in the United Kingdom on 21 July 2007. It is the seventh and final main novel, following Harry, Ron, and Hermione as they search for Voldemort’s Horcruxes instead of returning to Hogwarts for a conventional school year. The story concludes the conflict that began in the first book.
The release was a major international publishing event. Millions of copies were prepared for launch, and the book set sales records in several markets. It is important to distinguish publication of the novel from the film adaptation: the film version was split into two parts, released in 2010 and 2011. Thus, the book series ended in 2007 even though the cinematic story concluded later.
