In which city is the Bob Marley Museum located?
Answer
Kingston
Answer
Kingston
The Bob Marley Museum is located in Kingston, Jamaica. Its address is 56 Hope Road, the former home and headquarters of Bob Marley and his Tuff Gong organization.
The property became closely associated with Marley after Island Records founder Chris Blackwell gave him the Kingston residence and company headquarters. It housed Tuff Gong Studios and served as a centre for Marley’s music and business activities. In 1976, Marley also survived a failed assassination attempt at the house.
After Marley’s death in 1981, his wife, Rita Marley, converted the property into a museum. It opened in 1986 and preserves rooms, memorabilia, recording equipment and other items connected with his life and career. The museum is a major cultural and tourism site in Jamaica.
Visitors sometimes confuse the museum’s location with Nine Mile, the rural Saint Ann Parish village where Marley was born and where his mausoleum is located. Nine Mile is an important Marley pilgrimage site, but the Bob Marley Museum itself is in Kingston, Jamaica’s capital.
