Which Bob Marley album became his first release to reach the US Billboard 200 top 10?
Answer
Rastaman Vibration
Answer
Rastaman Vibration
Rastaman Vibration became Bob Marley’s first release to reach the US Billboard 200 top 10.
Released on 30 April 1976, Rastaman Vibration was Bob Marley and the Wailers’ eighth studio album. It reached No. 8 on the Billboard 200, marking a major breakthrough for Marley in the United States. The album also produced “Roots, Rock, Reggae,” his only single to enter the US Billboard Hot 100.
The album followed Natty Dread, which is a common source of confusion because it was also an important mid-1970s Marley release and helped establish his international reputation. Exodus came next in 1977 and became even more celebrated critically, but Rastaman Vibration was the first Marley album to crack the Billboard 200’s top 10. Its songs also showed Marley balancing spiritual themes, social criticism and increasingly accessible reggae production.
