J.K. Rowling completed the Harry Potter series with its final novel in 2007.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the seventh book, was published on 21 July 2007. It follows Harry, Ron, and Hermione as they leave Hogwarts to find and destroy Voldemort’s remaining Horcruxes. The novel resolves the central conflict that began in the first book and reveals the meaning of the Deathly Hallows.
The publication was a major global event. Midnight launch parties were held in many countries, and the book sold millions of copies soon after release. Although the main novel series ended in 2007, the fictional world continued through films, companion publications, stage work, and other projects.
The final film adaptation arrived later, in two parts: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 in 2010 and Part 2 in 2011. This difference between the final book date and the final film date often causes confusion.
