Chevrolet introduced the Colorado midsize pickup in North America in 2004.
The Colorado replaced the Chevrolet S-10 in Chevrolet’s North American truck lineup. It was developed with General Motors and Isuzu and was sold in several body configurations, including regular-cab, extended-cab, and crew-cab versions depending on the market and model year.
The truck used a ladder-frame construction and was positioned below the full-size Silverado. Its midsize dimensions made it suitable for buyers who wanted pickup utility without the exterior size of a full-size truck.
The Colorado name also appears on related trucks sold in other regions, but specifications and production arrangements have varied by market. That regional variation is why a question about its North American introduction is more precise than simply asking when the Colorado first appeared worldwide.
