In the Pokémon TV series, Ash defeats Drake in the Orange League final at Pummelo Stadium.
Pummelo Stadium is the venue for the climax of Ash’s Orange Islands journey. Drake, the Orange Crew Supreme Gym Leader, challenges Ash in a full six-on-six battle. The contest takes place in “Enter the Dragonite,” the final episode of the Orange Islands arc.
Ash’s final Pokémon is Pikachu, which defeats Drake’s Dragonite after a demanding battle. Winning at Pummelo Stadium earns Ash the Orange League championship and a winner’s trophy. The result is especially significant because it is Ash’s first official Pokémon League-style championship victory in the television series.
Pummelo Stadium is not the same location as Indigo Plateau, where the original Kanto League tournament is held. The Orange League uses its own island-based challenge system and final venue.
