In the Pokémon TV series, what is the name of the laboratory where Professor Oak studies Pokémon?

The story behind the answer

Professor Oak studies Pokémon at the Oak Pokémon Research Lab in Pallet Town in the Pokémon TV series. The laboratory is the professor's home base and the starting point for many Kanto journeys.

Oak gives new Trainers their first Pokémon and Pokédexes, while his laboratory houses Pokémon that Trainers leave behind during their travels. Ash's other Pokémon are often shown living at the lab under the care of Professor Oak and his assistants. The location therefore remains important even when Ash is traveling far from Pallet Town.

The lab is sometimes casually called Professor Oak's house, but its established role is a Pokémon research facility. Its name also differs from the names of Pokémon Centers, Gyms, and other institutions seen in the series. Pallet Town's lab is one of the earliest recurring locations in the anime.
