In the Pokémon TV series, the Orange Islands are the first region Ash visits after leaving Kanto.
Ash travels to the Orange Islands during the series arc commonly known as Pokémon the Series: Adventures in the Orange Islands. Professor Oak sends him to collect the mysterious GS Ball from Professor Ivy on Valencia Island, beginning a new island adventure.
The Orange Islands are not presented as one of the main game regions in the same way as Kanto, Johto, or Hoenn. Their anime storyline includes island challenges rather than the standard eight-Gym League structure. Ash ultimately competes in the Orange League and defeats Drake, its Champion.
The Orange Islands should not be confused with the Sevii Islands, which are a separate island group associated with the Kanto games.
