In the original The Omen franchise, Damien’s adoptive family has the surname Thorn.
The 1976 film The Omen follows Robert Thorn, an American diplomat, and his wife Katherine after they adopt a boy named Damien. Robert initially hides the circumstances of the child’s birth from Katherine, but strange deaths and ominous events gradually lead him to suspect that Damien is connected to an ancient prophecy.
Gregory Peck plays Robert Thorn, while Lee Remick portrays Katherine. The surname also appears in the title of the family’s fictional world and is used throughout the original film series. Damien is commonly identified as the Antichrist in the story, but Thorn is the family name rather than Damien’s biological surname.
The original film was followed by Damien: Omen II in 1978 and Omen III: The Final Conflict in 1981. A 2006 remake and later television adaptations expand the property, but the Thorn family remains most closely associated with the first film’s mythology.
