In the original Resident Evil, which mansion serves as the main setting?
Answer
Spencer Mansion
Answer
Spencer Mansion
The original Resident Evil is mainly set in Spencer Mansion.
The mansion stands in the Arklay Mountains outside Raccoon City and is the first major location explored by S.T.A.R.S. members Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine. Its rooms, laboratories, underground passages, and surrounding forest establish the series’ survival-horror formula.
The building is named after Oswell E. Spencer, one of Umbrella’s founders. Although the mansion appears to be an extravagant residence, it conceals secret research facilities connected to Umbrella’s experiments.
Players sometimes confuse Spencer Mansion with later Resident Evil locations such as the Baker family’s Louisiana plantation or Dimitrescu Castle. Those settings belong to different games and stories.
