In the original Assassin's Creed, what is the name of the protagonist who serves as a Syrian Assassin?
Answer
Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad
Answer
Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad
Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad is the protagonist of the original Assassin's Creed and serves as a Syrian Assassin.
The game follows Altaïr during the Third Crusade in 1191. He begins as a highly ranked Assassin but is demoted after failing a mission, forcing him to recover his reputation by carrying out assignments across the Holy Land.
Altaïr's name means “flying eagle, son of none” in Arabic. He was voiced by Philip Shahbaz in the first game and later appears in Assassin's Creed: Revelations, which explores more of his life and legacy.
Altaïr is sometimes confused with Ezio Auditore, the Italian protagonist of the next major game. Ezio's story takes place centuries later, during the Renaissance, while Altaïr's adventures belong to the medieval period.
