The main ship in Assassin's Creed III is the Aquila.
Connor uses the Aquila during naval missions along the Atlantic coast and in the waters around the North American colonies. The ship can be upgraded at the Homestead, improving its guns, hull, and other capabilities. Naval gameplay became a major feature of Connor's campaign and helped establish systems later expanded in Black Flag.
The Aquila is not the same vessel as the Jackdaw, Edward Kenway's ship in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The Morrigan belongs to Shay Cormac in Assassin's Creed Rogue. Because all three games feature prominent sailing, their ship names are often mixed up.
Assassin's Creed III was released in 2012 and is set during the American Revolution. The Aquila's name comes from the Latin word for eagle, a symbol that fits the game's revolutionary and frontier themes.
