The biblical description gives Noah’s Ark a length of 300 cubits.
Genesis describes the vessel as 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high. A cubit was an ancient unit based roughly on the length of a person’s forearm, so its exact modern equivalent is uncertain. Depending on the cubit used, the ark’s length is commonly estimated at roughly 135 to 150 metres.
The dimensions create a long, box-like vessel rather than a conventional ship with a pointed bow. Modern discussions often convert the measurements into metres or feet, but those conversions are estimates because ancient cubits varied by place and period.
The biblical text also says the ark had three decks, a roof or covering, and a side opening. These details distinguish the story’s literary description from later artistic depictions, which often show a more ship-shaped craft.
