How old was Noah when the Flood waters came on the earth?

Noah was 600 years old when the Flood waters came upon the earth, according to Genesis 7:6. This age belongs to the biblical chronology surrounding the Ark and the Flood.

Genesis introduces Noah’s three sons—Shem, Ham, and Japheth—before describing the Flood. It later states that Noah was 600 years old when the waters arrived, giving the event a precise age marker within the story.

Noah’s age at the Flood should not be confused with his age at death. Genesis 9:29 says Noah lived 950 years in total. Nor should it be confused with the ages of his sons, whose births and relative order are described separately in Genesis.
