In the 2015 film The Final Girls, which 1980s slasher movie do the characters enter?

In The Final Girls, the characters enter the fictional 1980s slasher movie Camp Bloodbath.

The 2015 film follows Max and her friends after they are pulled through a cinema screen into Camp Bloodbath, a movie that resembles a classic summer-camp slasher. Once inside, they encounter the film’s characters and discover that its story follows a repeating structure. Their knowledge of horror conventions becomes useful as they try to survive and find a way out.

Malin Akerman plays Amanda, the actress who portrayed Nancy in Camp Bloodbath, while Taissa Farmiga plays Max. The movie blends horror, comedy and family drama, especially through Max’s relationship with her late mother’s screen image.

Camp Bloodbath is an invented film within The Final Girls. It is not the same as real slasher titles such as Sleepaway Camp, The Burning or Friday the 13th, although the fictional movie deliberately borrows recognizable genre conventions from that era.
