In Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, what camera perspective is used for the main gameplay?
Answer
First-person perspective
Answer
First-person perspective
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard uses a first-person perspective for its main gameplay.
The viewpoint places the player directly behind the eyes of Ethan Winters, making the Baker family’s Louisiana plantation feel especially close and threatening. Earlier mainline Resident Evil games generally used fixed camera angles or an over-the-shoulder third-person view, so the change was a major stylistic decision.
Capcom released Resident Evil 7 in 2017. The game combines exploration, environmental puzzles, resource management, and combat with a more intimate horror presentation. It also supports virtual-reality play on PlayStation VR, although the standard game can be played without VR.
The perspective is sometimes confused with the third-person mode added to Resident Evil Village, the next mainline entry. Resident Evil 7’s core campaign remains built around first-person play, helping establish Ethan’s limited viewpoint and vulnerability.
