In Resident Evil 4, Leon Kennedy must rescue Ashley Graham, the U.S. president’s daughter.
Ashley is abducted and taken to a rural region of Spain, where the Los Illuminados cult holds her captive. Leon S. Kennedy is sent on the mission because he is serving as a U.S. government agent after the events of Resident Evil 2.
Once Leon finds Ashley, the game frequently requires the two characters to move through dangerous areas together. Ashley is not normally a combat character, so protecting her and managing her position are important parts of the game’s design.
Ashley is sometimes confused with other young characters in the series, especially Sherry Birkin from Resident Evil 2. Sherry is connected to William and Annette Birkin, while Ashley’s defining role in Resident Evil 4 is her relationship to the unnamed U.S. president.
