Ramon Salazar is the castle owner and a major antagonist in Resident Evil 4.
Salazar is the eighth castellan of the Salazar family, which has controlled the castle in the game's rural Spanish region for generations. He supports the Los Illuminados cult and permits its leader, Osmund Saddler, to use the castle and its surrounding territory.
Leon S. Kennedy encounters Salazar after reaching the castle while attempting to rescue Ashley Graham. Salazar's young appearance contrasts with his historical title and the destructive power he gains after being exposed to Las Plagas. His boss encounter is one of the game's major castle set pieces.
Salazar is often confused with Saddler, the cult's supreme leader, or Bitores Mendez, the village chief. Those characters occupy different positions in the story. Jack Krauser is another antagonist and former ally of Leon, but he is not the castle owner.
