In Pokémon the Series: Gold and Silver, what is the name of the conference where Ash competes in the Johto League?

The story behind the answer

In Pokémon the Series: Gold and Silver, Ash competes in the Johto League’s Silver Conference.

The Silver Conference is the Pokémon League tournament held in the Johto region. Ash qualifies after collecting the eight Johto Gym Badges and travels to the tournament site with his traveling companions. The conference is named after Silver Town, where the competition takes place.

Ash advances through several rounds and faces his rival Gary Oak in a major full battle. Ash wins that match, marking the first time he defeats Gary in an official Pokémon League battle. Ash later loses in the quarterfinals to Harrison, whose Blaziken defeats Ash’s Charizard.

The Silver Conference is sometimes confused with the Indigo Plateau Conference, which belongs to Kanto, or the Silver Town location itself. In the Japanese version, the tournament is known as the Silver Conference as well.
