In Pokémon Journeys: The Series, the Cerise Laboratory is located in Vermilion City.

Professor Cerise operates the laboratory as a research center for studying Pokémon behavior and habitats. Ash and Goh begin working there, giving the series a base in Kanto while allowing them to travel across multiple regions.

Vermilion City is also known from the original anime as the home of Lt. Surge’s Gym. The Cerise Laboratory should not be confused with Professor Oak’s laboratory in Pallet Town or Professor Kukui’s Pokémon School in Alola.
