Goh’s first Pokémon partner in Pokémon Journeys: The Series is Scorbunny. He meets the energetic Galar starter during the early part of his partnership with Ash and later catches it in the Galar region.
Scorbunny initially follows Goh after becoming separated from a group of other Pokémon. Its lively personality and interest in humans make it especially compatible with Goh, whose goal is to catch one of every Pokémon and eventually obtain Mew. Scorbunny becomes Goh’s first regular battling companion.
Scorbunny later evolves into Raboot and then Cinderace. Its evolution reflects Goh’s changing relationship with it: Raboot becomes more reserved, while Cinderace remains an important member of Goh’s team and a powerful battler.
Goh encounters the other Galar starters, Grookey and Sobble, at different points. They are not the answer because Scorbunny is the first partner Pokémon to join Goh and accompany him through the earliest Journeys adventures.
