Answer
Doc Hudson
Answer
Doc Hudson
In Pixar's Cars, retired racing champion Doc Hudson trains Lightning McQueen.
Doc is the town doctor of Radiator Springs, but he once competed as the Fabulous Hudson Hornet. His racing number was 51, and he won three Piston Cup championships before a crash ended his racing career.
At first, Doc rejects McQueen's arrogance and refuses to help him. Their relationship changes after McQueen begins repairing the town's road and shows greater respect for the local community. Doc eventually teaches him the controlled drifting technique known as a turn.
Doc is voiced by Paul Newman, whose performance was his final voice role in a feature film. The character is based on the real Hudson Hornet, a car celebrated for its success in early stock-car racing. The film treats Doc's past as an important contrast to McQueen's initially self-centered attitude.
