In Pixar's Cars, what route passes through Radiator Springs?

The story behind the answer

Route 66 passes through Radiator Springs in Pixar's Cars.

The fictional town is located along the historic U.S. Route 66, the highway that once connected Chicago and Santa Monica. Cars uses the town's decline after the construction of a bypass interstate to reflect the real history of many Route 66 communities.

Lightning McQueen reaches Radiator Springs after becoming separated from his transport truck on the way to the Piston Cup finale. He damages the road while trying to escape, and the town's residents require him to repair it before leaving.

Pixar artists researched Route 66 locations and roadside attractions during development. The film includes visual influences from real places such as the Wigwam Motels and Cadillac Ranch. Radiator Springs itself is fictional, so it should not be confused with a real Arizona town of the same name.
