In Pixar’s Cars, Sally Carrera is the blue Porsche who becomes Lightning McQueen’s partner.
Sally is a Porsche 996 Carrera and the town attorney of Radiator Springs. She left a successful life in California and chose to settle in the small roadside community, where she becomes one of its strongest advocates. Her knowledge of the town and its history helps McQueen understand what he initially overlooks.
Sally first reacts critically to McQueen’s arrogance and careless driving. As he repairs the road and spends time with the residents, their relationship develops from conflict into friendship and then romance. She also explains how Radiator Springs suffered when Interstate 40 diverted traffic away from historic Route 66.
Sally is distinct from Flo, the owner of Flo’s V8 Café, and from Holley Shiftwell, the spy introduced in Cars 2. She is also not Cruz Ramirez, McQueen’s trainer and racing partner in Cars 3. Sally remains closely associated with Radiator Springs throughout the series.
