In Pixar's Cars 3, which racer is the principal young rival of Lightning McQueen?

In Pixar's Cars 3, the principal young rival of Lightning McQueen is Jackson Storm.

Jackson Storm represents a new generation of high-performance racers. He is faster and more technologically advanced than many established competitors, and his sudden dominance makes McQueen question whether experience can compete with rapidly changing racing methods. Storm's confidence and dismissive attitude intensify the conflict.

Storm is a sleek black race car with blue accents, contrasting visually with McQueen's red design. He is voiced by Armie Hammer in the English-language version. The character's storyline focuses on generational change in sport rather than presenting him as a simple copy of Chick Hicks, McQueen's main rival in the first film.

The climactic competition takes place at the Florida 500. Although Storm remains a powerful competitor, Cruz Ramirez enters the race for the Rust-eze team and defeats him. McQueen's decision to support Cruz helps resolve the film's broader theme about passing knowledge between generations.
