In Pixar's Cars 2, which racer is Lightning McQueen's Italian rival?

Francesco Bernoulli is Lightning McQueen's Italian rival in Pixar's Cars 2.

Francesco is a Formula One-inspired open-wheel race car and one of the headline competitors in the World Grand Prix. He is fast, confident, and highly theatrical, often presenting himself as the obvious favorite before each race.

His rivalry with McQueen supplies much of the sequel's racing tension. Francesco's arrogance contrasts with McQueen's growing maturity, while their competition unfolds across international locations including Tokyo, Porto Corsa, and London.

Francesco is voiced by John Turturro in the English-language version. He is not the same character as Jackson Storm, who becomes McQueen's main competitor in Cars 3. Chick Hicks is another earlier rival from the first film, while Cal Weathers appears later in the racing storyline.
