In Pixar's Cars 2, which international racing series is called the World Grand Prix?
Answer
World Grand Prix
Answer
World Grand Prix
In Pixar's Cars 2, the international racing series is called the World Grand Prix.
The World Grand Prix is organized by oil magnate Sir Miles Axlerod to promote Allinol, a supposedly environmentally friendly alternative fuel. The competition takes racers to courses in Tokyo, Porto Corsa, and London.
Lightning McQueen enters the event after Axlerod challenges him publicly, while Mater becomes involved in an espionage plot involving secret agents and a conspiracy connected to the race. The film therefore combines global motorsport with spy-film elements.
The World Grand Prix is fictional and should not be confused with Formula One's real-world World Championship. It also differs from the Piston Cup, the domestic stock-car competition that drives much of the first Cars film. Cars 2 was released in 2011 as the franchise's second feature film.
