In Pixar’s Cars 2, which character is secretly an American spy?

Finn McMissile is secretly an American spy in Pixar’s Cars 2.

Finn is an experienced British intelligence agent who investigates a conspiracy connected to the World Grand Prix. He initially mistakes Mater for an undercover operative, and that misunderstanding pulls the tow truck into the film’s espionage plot. Finn’s spy identity is revealed as the story develops.

The character is designed as a tribute to classic spy-film vehicles. His name evokes James Bond-style secret agents, while his equipment includes gadgets suited to surveillance, pursuit, and escape. Michael Caine provides Finn’s voice in the English-language film.

Finn is sometimes described simply as British because of his accent and visual style, but the question asks about his role rather than his nationality. In the Cars 2 story, his defining occupation is intelligence agent. Holley Shiftwell is another spy character, while Mater is an accidental participant.
