In 'Mulan', what is the name of the dragon guardian?
Answer
Mushu
Answer
Mushu
In “Mulan,” Mushu is the dragon guardian associated with Mulan’s family. He is a small, red Chinese dragon who becomes Mulan’s companion after she disguises herself as a man and joins the Imperial Army in her father’s place.
Mushu was once a spiritual guardian of the Fa family, but the ancestors demoted him after he failed to protect one of their family members. When Mulan leaves home, the ancestors intend to send a larger guardian dragon to bring her back. Mushu destroys the statue while trying to awaken it, then takes the opportunity to serve Mulan himself and restore his status.
His attempts to help are often mischievous or risky. He secretly manipulates events, including forging an army order that sends Mulan’s inexperienced unit toward a dangerous battlefield. Despite his selfish motives, Mushu gradually becomes genuinely loyal to Mulan and helps her succeed.
Yao is one of Mulan’s fellow soldiers, Khan is her horse, and Cri-Kee is her lucky cricket. None of those characters is the dragon guardian.
