In Kung Fu Panda, Tai Lung is the villain who escapes from Chorh-Gom Prison.
Tai Lung is a snow leopard and former student of Master Shifu. Shifu raised and trained him with the hope that he might become the Dragon Warrior, but Tai Lung’s ambition and anger grew after Oogway rejected him. His attempted seizure of the Dragon Scroll led to his imprisonment.
The film shows Tai Lung escaping Chorh-Gom Prison through a carefully planned assault against its guards. He then returns to the Valley of Peace to claim the Dragon Scroll and challenge the kung fu masters who stand in his way.
Tai Lung is voiced in English by Ian McShane. He is distinct from the later villains Lord Shen, a peacock in Kung Fu Panda 2, and Kai, a yak-like spirit warrior in Kung Fu Panda 3. The Chameleon is the principal antagonist of Kung Fu Panda 4.
