In Kung Fu Panda 2, what city does Lord Shen rule?

In Kung Fu Panda 2, Lord Shen rules Gongmen City.

Gongmen City is the principal urban setting of the second film. It is a large, prosperous city in China-inspired territory, and its government is controlled by Shen, an ambitious peacock who uses cannons and military force in an attempt to conquer the kung fu world.

Po and the Furious Five travel to Gongmen City after learning that Shen’s weapons threaten the future of kung fu. The city’s harbor, walls, streets, and royal structures provide the setting for much of the film’s conflict.

Gongmen City is sometimes confused with the Valley of Peace, which is the main setting of the first film. The two locations belong to the same fictional world but serve different narrative roles. The second film expands the setting beyond Po’s home valley into a major political and military center.
