In Elden Ring, which boss guards the entrance to the Grand Lift of Dectus from Liurnia?

In Elden Ring, Magma Wyrm Makar guards the northern route from Liurnia toward the Altus Plateau.

Makar is found in Ruin-Strewn Precipice, a mine-and-cliff route that provides an alternative to using the Grand Lift of Dectus. Defeating him allows the player to continue upward toward the Altus Plateau without first assembling both halves of the Dectus Medallion.

The boss is a magma wyrm, a dragon-like creature that crawls on its belly and uses a large curved sword. Its attacks combine heavy physical strikes with lava, making positioning especially important in the confined arena. Victory awards the Magma Wyrm’s Scalesword and a Dragon Heart.

Makar is sometimes described as guarding the Grand Lift itself, but that is imprecise. The lift is a separate landmark east of the precipice. Makar instead blocks the alternative ascent route that reaches the same broad region of the Lands Between.
