In Dark Souls, what is the name of the wolf boss in Darkroot Garden?

In Dark Souls, the wolf boss in Darkroot Garden is Great Grey Wolf Sif.

Sif is encountered in a large circular arena beyond the sealed section of Darkroot Garden. The boss fights with the Greatsword of Artorias, using sweeping slashes, lunges, and wide attacks that cover much of the arena. Sif’s size and mobility make the battle visually distinctive among the game’s many humanoid and monstrous bosses.

Defeating Sif awards the Soul of Sif and the Covenant of Artorias, a ring required to survive the abyssal arena where the Four Kings are fought. Sif also appears in the Artorias of the Abyss storyline, where the player can encounter a younger version of the wolf under different circumstances.

The title “Great Grey Wolf” is part of Sif’s official name. The Moonlight Butterfly is another Darkroot Garden boss, but it is a flying magical creature rather than the area’s famous wolf.
