In Dark Souls, what is the name of the pyromancy trainer rescued from the Depths?

In Dark Souls, Laurentius of the Great Swamp is the pyromancy trainer rescued from the Depths.

Laurentius is found trapped in a barrel in the Depths, near the area containing the giant butcher and the route toward the Gaping Dragon. Freeing him allows him to relocate to Firelink Shrine, where he teaches basic pyromancies and upgrades the player’s Pyromancy Flame.

His dialogue also introduces the Great Swamp tradition, a culture associated with pyromancy outside the corrupted legacy of the Witch of Izalith. If the player reveals the source of advanced Chaos pyromancy, Laurentius may later leave Firelink Shrine in search of it.

He is often confused with Quelana, an ancient pyromancer found much later, or Eingyi, the servant in Quelaag’s Domain. Cornyx belongs to Dark Souls III, not the original game. These characters share a magical discipline but occupy different games or story roles.
