In Dark Souls, what is the name of the painted world entered through the giant painting?
Answer
Painted World of Ariamis
Answer
Painted World of Ariamis
The giant painting in Dark Souls leads to the Painted World of Ariamis.
This optional area is accessed inside Anor Londo by interacting with a large painting in the building that contains the Painting Guardian enemies. The player is transported into an isolated, snow-covered region filled with undead enemies, unusual creatures, and environmental secrets.
The area’s main boss is Crossbreed Priscilla, who can initially be left alone. Speaking to or attacking her affects the encounter, but defeating her is not required to leave the painted world. The player can depart through the exit after reaching the arena.
The location is commonly confused with the Painted World of Ariandel from Dark Souls III. Ariamis belongs to the original Dark Souls, while Ariandel is a separate downloadable-content area in the later game.
