In Dark Souls, what is the name of the first bell-ringing location?

The story behind the answer

In Dark Souls, the first bell-ringing location is the Undead Parish.

The Bell of Awakening in the Undead Parish is reached after traveling through the Undead Burg and defeating the Bell Gargoyles. Ringing it advances the central objective given to the player at the beginning of the adventure.

A second Bell of Awakening is located in Blighttown, beneath the poisonous swamp. The two bells must both be rung to open the way toward Sen’s Fortress, so players sometimes remember Blighttown as the bell area without distinguishing which bell comes first.

The Undead Parish also contains Andre of Astora, the game’s first major blacksmith, and the Gargoyles’ rooftop arena. The Depths and New Londo Ruins are separate areas and do not contain either Bell of Awakening.
