In Dark Souls, what is the name of the blacksmith who upgrades weapons in New Londo Ruins?

In Dark Souls, Rickert of Vinheim is the blacksmith who upgrades weapons in New Londo Ruins.

Rickert is found behind bars in a small cell near the start of New Londo Ruins. Unlike most merchants, he remains stationary and can be accessed without fully exploring the flooded ruins. His services include standard weapon upgrades and the creation of magic weapons along the appropriate upgrade path.

The name is sometimes confused with other Dark Souls smiths. Andre of Astora works in the Undead Parish, Vamos is beneath the Catacombs, and the Giant Blacksmith is in Anor Londo. Rickert’s location is especially useful because New Londo is reached early, even though much of the area cannot be safely completed until the player obtains the key item needed to traverse its ghosts.

Rickert’s surname, Vinheim, also connects him to the sorcery-focused Dragon School and to characters such as Big Hat Logan.
