In Assassin's Creed Syndicate, Crawford Starrick controls London as the leading Templar antagonist.
The game takes place in London during the Industrial Revolution, primarily in 1868. Starrick directs a powerful Templar organization that influences the city's institutions, industries, and criminal networks. Twin protagonists Jacob and Evie Frye build an Assassin gang and work to remove that influence district by district.
London's Victorian setting is central to the game's identity. Its districts include Westminster, the City of London, Southwark, and Whitechapel, each represented through missions and activities. Manchester, Liverpool, and Birmingham were also important industrial cities in nineteenth-century Britain, but they are not the main city in Syndicate. Starrick's control of London is therefore both the story's central conflict and the reason the Frye twins focus their campaign there.
