Constantinople is the primary historic setting for Ezio's story in Assassin's Creed Revelations.
The game is set chiefly in Constantinople during the early sixteenth century, when the city was the capital of the Ottoman Empire. Ezio travels there while searching for Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad's lost memories and keys connected to the Masyaf fortress.
The game divides Constantinople into districts and features landmarks, rooftops, markets, and waterways inspired by the real city. Its story also includes Cappadocia, an important secondary location reached during the campaign.
Constantinople is the historical name used in the game and in much of the period's context; the city is now generally called Istanbul. That modern name can cause confusion in trivia questions, but the game's primary setting is identified as Constantinople, not Florence, Rome, or London.
