Monteriggioni is the Italian mountain headquarters of the Assassin Brotherhood in Assassin's Creed II.
The settlement is the Auditore family's home and is governed by Ezio's uncle, Mario Auditore. After Ezio becomes an Assassin, Monteriggioni serves as a safe base between missions across Renaissance Italy.
Players can renovate the town by restoring buildings and businesses. These improvements increase the settlement's value and generate income that can be used to purchase equipment and other upgrades. The villa therefore functions both as a narrative refuge and as a light management system.
The name is based on the real Tuscan hill town of Monteriggioni, whose distinctive medieval walls and towers still exist. It should not be confused with Masyaf, the Syrian fortress associated with Altaïr and the early Assassin Order, or Forlì, another Italian location visited during Ezio's campaign.
