Which Assassin's Creed protagonist is known as the Eagle of Masyaf?
Answer
Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad
Answer
Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad
Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad is the Assassin known as the Eagle of Masyaf.
Altaïr is the central historical protagonist of the original Assassin's Creed. He is a Syrian Assassin operating in the late twelfth century, during the Third Crusade. After a failed mission, he is stripped of rank and must regain his status by carrying out missions against targets connected to a broader political conspiracy.
Masyaf is the mountain fortress that serves as the Assassin Brotherhood's headquarters in the game. Altaïr's title, Eagle of Masyaf, reflects his reputation within that organization. His story also becomes important to later games because of his connection to the Apple of Eden and to the lineage experienced by Desmond Miles.
Altaïr is sometimes confused with Ezio Auditore, who became the series' next major protagonist. The character's name is commonly transliterated as Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, and the name Altaïr refers to the star Altair in Arabic usage.
